Make your own bricks

Save money by making your own fuel. All you need is a briquette maker, usually around £20 on the internet, a bucket, some water and a lot of time. Best time to make them is early summer so that they have enough time to dry out before you need to light the fire.

Instructions

1 - rip paper into strips and place in a bucket
2 - add water and leave for an hour

3 - stir and place handfuls of wet paper into the brick maker

4 - squeeze the water out and remove brick

5 - leave to dry until moisture content is less than 20%

6 - burn on your wood burner or open fire
